In this session participants will learn how to:

  • Recognize the signs of positive mental health and effective coping strategies
  • Detect the signs and symptoms of the complex issue of mental health, mental illness, and the factors that put people at risk.
  • Recognize the signs and symptoms that are signalling that your team is not coping with the uncertainty and disruption
  • Distinguish the 10 Essential Team Needs that must be addressed in supporting your team as they continue to move through this uncertainty (understanding these needs in a remote/hybrid work world)
  • Generate actionable ideas to overcome challenges
  • Avoid the pitfalls to managing a team during and after crisis
  • Improve comfort in addressing anxiety issues in the workplace using a Supportive Conversations Action Plan.
  • Increase your knowledge, skills and strategies to reduce stigma and move towards positive outcomes in dealing with mental health issues like depression and anxiety.
  • Validate and direct those experiencing mental health challenges to helpful resources in
    order to minimize the negative impact that this issue can have on the individual, their family, their livelihood and your workplace.

Beverly Beuermann-King

For over twenty years, Beverly has used her S-O-S Principle™ with people and organizations who want to control their reactions to stress, build resiliency against life’s challenges, and live healthy, successful lives.

She launched her company, R ‘n B Consulting in 1995, and since then has helped teams from a wide range of industries, including healthcare, education, government, finance, and not-for-profit, shift from stressed-out to resilient, enabling them to be more engaged, productive and healthy.

Beverly’s psychology, sociology, management, and adult education background combine to create her Work Smart Live Smart presentations, which are soundly based in research, and are enlightening and inspirational. Audiences discover the right strategies to improve their health, manage their challenges, and enhance their life’s satisfaction.

Beverly is a sought-after media spokesperson and has represented high-profile brands such as Expedia.ca, TD Insurance and P&G. She has made over 500 television and radio appearances on shows such as City TV and CBC, and in national publications from the Toronto Star to Chatelaine.
