During this session Bill talks about ‘what is psychological safety?’ and unpacks the 5 elements of creating a safe environment. At its core it is about... 

  1. Fostering a ‘Speak Up’ Culture Promote inclusion, invite engagement & listen humbly 
  2. Framing the Work Be clear, de-stigmatize failure & emphasize purpose 
  3. Nurturing Emotional Intelligence Self-Awareness, self-regulation, social-awareness, social-regulation 

He then goes on to cover providing performance feedback in a way that allows employees to hear it without getting defensive and to drive improvement in their performance.

Bill will also discuss the key concepts that underpin Emotional Intelligence and its impact on performance, engagement and psychological safety.
