À propos

I am passionate about people & business development. Being the VP of Human Resources for ex2 Academy enables me to fulfil those passions in so many ways. My early career and discipline came from my development as a manager with Marks and Spencer plc. I also took a secondment to HR, which included being part of a team integrating the Point-of-Sale system throughout the retail network. In both roles I saw first-hand the impact of good training and development, and the importance of continuous improvement of the people.

I also took on an external role for a year to help the largest retail bank in UK change the culture of the business towards Health and Safety. This involved identifying team champions, devising the actual training curriculum, deciding how this was going to be deployed and helping pilot and deliver the training nationwide.

With this under my belt, I wanted to understand more about business development.
Looking for a new challenge, I moved to the hospitality industry and took the position of senior manager at a five-star hotel where I was responsible for the Golf and Leisure Operations, which also included event management. I was part of a team that turned a failing hotel into a high performing business.

In recent years I have been involved in various business development roles. As part of the hotel turn around we utilised various standards to validate our systems, processes, and learning/training. I decided that it would be good to understand what it takes to assess a company, and what is necessary for a business to succeed.

I qualified as an Assessor and Advisor against Standards such as Investors in People, Customer Service Standard, The Merlin Standard, matrix and the Health and Wellbeing Good Practice Model.

This gave me the unique opportunity to see a range of businesses and work with business owners, HR directors, and people from every level of an organisation. These unique insights have directly fed into my current role as VP of HR at ex2 Academy.

For ex2 Academy I am directly involved in the learning and development programs offered by the Academy, and work with our members HR departments to make this a reality.

Specialities: I am known for my organizational skills, planning and documenting, assessment and analysis as well as managing outsourcing and project development.
